 Store InfoBOARDSPORTS was started in 1972 by John Boothroid in a Toronto garage as Wind Promotions – a 100% core windsurfing business. We eventually found a “real” store in the Beach area on Queen Street East. Then in 1996 we relocated to our current main store at 2010 Yonge Street. We renamed the store BOARDSPORTS to reflect the broadening focus on all board sports: snowboarding, skateboarding, wakeboarding, surfing, kiteboarding and more recently Stand-Up Paddle Boarding. Then in 2002 we opened a new store in the Village at Blue Mountain. Boardsports is currently owned by Steve and Gander. We have a key group of terrific long-term managers that are all core riders. And we have been fortunate to attract amazing sales staff that are extremely passionate about the sports we all love. Thank you for supporting our shop!
