Joey’s Lil’ History

I was told to write a ’shop history and about’ page for the new website and being the owner of this fine establishment I thought to myself “What a great idea. This is definitely the reason I became an entrepreneur, so I can be told what to do and write an essay like back in grade 12.”

So the shop was started way back in ’96 by a little someone you may or may not know by the name of Paul Machnau. If you are or have been any kind of skateboarder you would know he is one of the most recognizable names in Canadian (and international) skateboarding. From there a Joe bought it off of Paul and then another Joe Bought it (me Joey) from that said Joe and created mass confusion for a little while.

In 2001 we moved to a bigger and better location 3 doors down the street and eventually did some expansions to have two floors of retail space (downstairs being guy land and upstairs belonging to the gals).


So here we are in the present, we continue to grow and expand, we continue to love skateboarding and snowboarding whether or not it is in style, and always will.
